ALL THE DARKNESS IN THE WORLD CANNOT PUT OUT THE LIGHT OF ONE TINY CANDLE.

​Materials: candle and lighter

​There is a spark of the Divine that lives in each one of us. It is our eternal connection to God or the Holy Spirit of God that lives within.  A great way to show this to little children is by using a candle. 

Light a candle and then shut off the light in the room leaving the shades up. Ask them if getting darker put the light out? Then shut off adjacent lights and shades, etc making it darker and darker. Ask them again if all that darkness put the light out?  

Most kids can identify that darkness is scary so you can use this also to explain that the light of God that lives in each of us can never be put out, like the darkness cannot put out the candle light. That light inside is what keeps us safe, and guides us in our life. No matter what, this light of God within will never leave and it can never be put out.
